Milwaukee named seventh most exciting city in America

We all know that Milwaukee is an ever changing and exciting place. So we're not surprised that the folks at real estate blog Movoto have named our fair city No. 7 on their list of 10 Most Exciting Cities in America.

"We would have never guessed that Milwaukee would make our list," Movoto editors said. "It turns out that Brew City is simply solid on all of our criteria."

We could have told them that.

In compiling the list, Movoto used criteria including park acreage per person, percent of population between 20 and 34 years old, as well as the amount per square miles of bars, movie theaters, museums, music venues, fast food restaurants (the less the better), theater companies and population diversity.

Surprisingly, Oakland ranked as Movoto's No.1 most exciting city based on its 10 criteria. Boston and San Francisco round out the top three.
