Season's eatings! The weather may be getting colder, but Dining Month on OnMilwaukee is just cooking up, dishing out your winning picks in this year's Best of Dining poll. Dining Month is brought to you by Fein Brothers, your premier food service equipment and supply dealer in Wisconsin since 1929. Congratulations to all of the winners, and happy eating for all those who voted!

BelAir Cantina

The best Mexican/Latin America category is always a hotly contested one during of Best of Dining poll, and this year's results were no different, with the top two contestants finishing within 20 votes of one another. But which restaurant reigns supreme? Which taco tops the list? Which burrito bests the rest? Which ... OK, you get the idea.

For the fourth time in five years, BelAir Cantina came away with the crown.

With five locations – the original Water Street spot, Downer Avenue, Wauwatosa, Oak Creek, Brookfield – plus a newly opened venue out in Madison, BelAir Cantina is clearly a hit, thanks to its tantalizing variety of tacos, refreshing margs and outstanding deal days on Tuesdays and Thursdays. BelAir can't rest too easy, however. Cafe Corazon landed just behind BelAir, with a mere 18 votes separating the two eateries (as well as the title of the OnMilwaukee editors' pick). Do we smell a culinary rivalry afoot?

Well, no matter who wins, we win, too.

Runners up:
2. Cafe Corazon
3. Botanas
4. Conejito's
5. Guanajuato

OnMilwaukee editors' pick: Cafe Corazon

Lori Fredrich's pick: Amilinda
I’m heading off-survey a bit with my 2017 pick. But that’s because Amilinda definitely deserves a mention for its Spanish and Portuguese-inspired dishes, which are unlike any you’ll find in the city. The menu is small and focused, but dishes rotate often, depending on what’s fresh and in season, so my tastebuds never tire. Some of my can’t-miss dishes have included its empanadas, housemade sausages and its piri piri chicken, which I’ve recommended to others more times than I can count. I’ve also had various preparations of bacalhau (salt cod) that have been spot-on.
