The votes are in, and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2008. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.

October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, special features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food. Bon appetit!

Milwaukee has its fair share of Mexican restaurants, everything from fancy, modern establishments with full bars to small, classic places that serve authentic fare on paper plates. Nevertheless, OnMilwaukee.com readers have spoken: Botanas reigns as king among comida de Mexico.

It's known for doing the traditional Mexican dishes better than its Latin Quarter contemporaries near National Avenue, but its seafood selections are what hoist it to the top of the list.

The addition of the open-air patio contributes to the fun and relaxing atmosphere, especially on a warm evening. The bottom line is that Botanas seems to be your best bet for good service, good food at a good price, and don't you dare leave without ordering a margarita...or a pitcher of them.
