For the first time in years, Barnacle Bud's did not win best patio. Instead, the honor went to Horny Hideaway, with Bud's coming in second, as well as the choice of the editors.

Located along the Kinnickinnic River's south bank, the Horny Goat's patio is believed to be the largest in the city, featuring a full, enclosed bar, volleyball courts, corn hole pit, boat slips and fire pits.

Plush couches, bar seating, boardwalk tables and picnic tables offer lots of seating, but it's still not enough on most warm nights when the patio is absolutely packed with partiers.

The view of the river from just about anywhere on the patio is spectacular. editors' choice: Barnacle Bud's

Nice ambiance but I agree about the service. Went on a slow weeknight in August when there were quite a few empty tables on the patio. Had to put our name in anyway and wait at the bar for ten minutes. Not one bartender at the bar even came over to take a drink order but they all did a lot of chatting with other customers and each other. Finally seated at a nice patio table and the server that took our order did not bring our food. He did bring our drinks though. Another server brought the food but the first service guy never came to ask if everything was OK or did we need another beverage. We did. Or would have liked one. Our bill was delivered by yet a third person who never asked if we wanted dessert or coffee or perhaps another beverage! We went to Burnhearts from here and got service with a smile. Immediately.
