Your votes are in, Milwaukee, and you have selected the winners of OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2011. We're announcing the results of this readers' poll, including our editors' pick, in a series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.

For the fifth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by Concordia University. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2011."

Each year, the readers of OnMilwaukee.com seem to vacillate between Saz's or Speed Queen for Milwaukee's best ribs. But for the second year in a row, you chose Speed Queen – and our editorial staff agrees. Saz's was a close runner up.

Speed Queen is a more than half-century-old Milwaukee landmark, focusing on carry-out barbecue with affordable prices and a drive-through window that makes it easy to pick up its signature ribs, rib tips and other specialties.
Whether diners drive-through, carry-out or eat-in, the food is the same top-notch quality, and modestly served in Styrofoam containers with plastic utensils.

Sadly, the restaurant at 1130 W. Walnut St. has lost its matriarch and co-founder, Betty Gillespie But the barbecue landmark has survived her passing, and continues to serve what OnMilwaukee.com readers have picked as the best ribs in town.
