For the seventh straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2013."

OnMilwaukee.com's Best of Dining competition is in its seventh year, and for the first time a new winner has been determined in the Best Steak category – Carnevor – which survived this time in its annual knockdown, drag out battle with six-time winner and now runner-up, the Five O’Clock Club.

The restaurant, located at 724 N. Milwaukee St., is owned by the SURG Restaurant Group and features the work of executive chef Jarvis Williams and executive sous chefs Mario Giuliani and Daniel Sibley.

The steakhouse’s popular steak options, including the famous Kobe cuts, can be found in the small plates to the salads, as well as the main entrees. The steakhouse also features Allen Brothers Prime Steaks, as well as cuts brought in from Hidden Creek Farms in New London.

Carnevor has long been a Milwaukee favorite, including for many celebrities and athletes that work or pass through the Cream City.
