Milwaukee's best takeout, 2015
Season's eatings! October may be over, but Dining Month on OnMilwaukee, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino, is still cooking, dishing out your winning picks in this year's Best of Dining poll. Congratulations to all of the winners, and happy eating for all those who voted!
Another new category in this year's OnMilwaukee Best of Dining poll brings a new winner to the forefront, as the Tosa-based Hawai'ian market, deli and caterer Ono Kine Grindz took the prize for Milwaukee's best takeout.
Hawai'ian food is not a familiar food option here in the dramatically colder northern Midwest, but Ono Kine Grindz and its passionate taste of the Pacific has clearly been converting folks and expanding horizons. The Tosa restaurant's menu features items ranging from the Kalua pig – traditional Hawai'ian pulled pork – to Chinese style barbecued chicken to ahi tuna to saimin – ramen done Hawai'ian style – and more. And they're all big hits, judging by Ono Kine Grindz's performance in the poll, nabbing 100 more votes than the next closest restaurant, Glorioso's.
Speed Queen, EE Sane and Tomken's rounded out the rest of the voters' picks, which this time completely differed from OnMilwaukee's foodie picks. But between both parties' selections, everyone is eating well – and quick, considering this is the best takeout category.
