Served sauceless, Point Easts Pub manages to lock in flavor without going greasy and finds the perfect point between tender and crispy.

Milwaukee's best wings, 2014

For the eighth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by Locavore, the newest restaurant at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2014."

In our annual readers' poll it looks like last year's unseating of a repeat champion in the wings category might be permanent.

This year, Points East Pub put a little distance between its local flavor and the national chain's, besting BW-3 by four percentage points.

Points East's wings are meaty and, thanks to the grilling, the skin has a nice snap when you bite into it, revealing the juicy, tender meat within. The dry rub-style spices on the outside give these wings a subtle but, over time, powerful smokey kick.

The OnMilwaukee.com staff still loves the wings at Club Garibaldi in Bay View and selected them as the editors' choice.

OnMilwaukee.com editors' choice: Club Garibaldi

Runners-up:

2. BW-3

3. Elsa's

4. Steny's

5. Club Garibaldi

Well deserved Points East.... solid, solid wing! National chain restaurants should not be allowed in a city-specific vote.

THANK YOU MKE!!!! Finally readers realized that there are better wings than BW3 (ick!). Can't agree more with Points East being best in MKE. Rachel & Face are the best bartenders around. Billiam an't half bad either. ;o)
