For the seventh straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2013."

According to a Tweet, Graffito, 102 N. Water St., is officially closed.

"After 3 wonderful years of serving scratch Italian cooking to many loyal patrons, we have decided to close our doors," reads the beginning of the text. The rest of message thanks "all of you in our community for your support" and notes that the restaurant will remain open "to honor all private parties reserved prior to the announcement of our closing."

Ryan Braun’s waterfront restaurant opened in 2011 and was operated by the SURG restaurant group.

Originally, the plan was for Braun's name to be removed and the restaurant to close at the end of 2013.  SURG will honor Graffito gift certificates at its other restaurants.

This week SURG opened Bugsy's Back Alley Saloon behind its new Gouda's Italian Deli at 218 N. Water Street in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward.
