MADISON – On Friday, April 5, Alterra Coffee will open its newest cafe, located in the historic Tenney Plaza building on Madison's Capitol Square, 25 S. Pickney St.

In addition to freshly brewed coffee (roasted by Alterra in Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood), Letterbox Fine Teas and espresso drinks, the cafe will serve Alterra's own house-made baked goods.

An extensive café food menu with a focus on locally sourced ingredients will include homemade soups, salads, breakfast burritos, wraps and more. A variety of sandwiches and specials will be served with Alterra Baking Company's new line of artisan breads.

The cafe in Tenney Plaza features a brewed-by-the-cup coffee bar at which customers can select from a handful of fresh roasted coffees brewed using a manual pourover method.

"Madison is an amazing community," says Alterra's director of marketing, Scott Schwebel. "We have been looking for the right spot to open a cafe for a while."
