Skip the line with Portillo's new online ordering app
A new Portillo's app, which launched today, offers customers the ability to skip the line and order food for pick-up at the counter or drive-thru for any of the concept's 44 restaurants, including the new Wisconsin location in Brookfield.
The app, created with the help of mobile developer Olo, was designed to reflect the restaurant's unique brand identity.
"Our original ordering system that we still use today was created by founder Dick Portillo. In the restaurant, our teams write customer orders as short abbreviations on each Portillo's bag, which are identifiable to our whole team," says Keith Kinsey, Portillo's CEO in a release. "It was important to us to maintain this piece of our brand identity as we expanded our digital offerings. The Olo team was able to work with us to create a unique product that is unlike any other restaurant app."
To commemorate the launch of the app, Portillo's is offering customers $5 off their first mobile app order of $15 or more, when they use the promo code HOTDOG at checkout. In addition, those who register with an account on the app from now through Aug. 31 will be eligible to enter a sweepstakes in which five lucky app users will win Portillo's meals for a year.
