Last May, we reported that Steve Perlstein of Simmer Truck and his partner, Jennifer Block, would be opening a brick and mortar location on Water Street.

Well, the day has come.

The new Simmer Cafe will be open today at 718 N. Water St. from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. for its very first day of  breakfast and lunch service.

The kitchen, which has been serving as commercial production space for the Simmer Truck, will now feature soups, panini and salads, along with breakfast offerings on weekdays.

Stay tuned for a feature on the cafe early next week.
