Taste & Toast to take place Downtown March 6-10
Taste & Toast, a happy hour event and precursor to Downtown Dining Week in June, will take place March 6-10 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Coordinated by the Milwaukee Downtown BID, Taste & Toast offers guests the opportunity to sample specially priced small plates, appetizers and beverages at a variety of Downtown bars, restaurants and lounges.
Participating venues for 2017 include Bacchus, The Brown Bottle, Carson's Prime Steaks, CLEAR Bar & Lounge, Coquette Café, Distil, Harbor House, Karma Bar & Grill, The Knick, Matador Taco + Tequila Bar, Mi•key's, Millioke, Milwaukee ChopHouse, Monarch Lounge, Onesto, Pier 106, The Pub Club, The Rumpus Room, SafeHouse, Smoke Shack, Swig, Upper 90 Sports Bar, Water Buffalo and Who's on Third.
Sample an Omija Berry Blush brandy old fashioned ($5) paired with corn dog battered mac and cheese ($6) at The Brown Bottle, ($5), or try the non-alcoholic sangria at Bacchus ($5) with an order of truffle fries ($8) or artisan cheese ($6).
Pair the house smoked salmon gougeres ($7) at Coquette Cafe with an elderflower old fashioned ($7). Or enjoy a spiked cucumber limeade ($5) with a shortrib grilled cheese ($8) at CLEAR at the Intercontinental Hotel. You can also end your day off right with fiesta taco dip ($6) and a Three Amigos Mule ($6) at Matador Taco & Tequila bar.
But there's plenty more where that came from. Full menus are available at milwaukeedowntown.com.
"Taste & Toast highlights one of Downtown Milwaukee's greatest assets – our fabulous nightlife," said Beth Weirick, CEO of Milwaukee Downtown in a press release about the event. "Offering smaller portions and lower price points, this week is a great opportunity to hit several hot spots in one night. It's truly a sampling experience."
Milwaukee Downtown will also award $300 in dining gift certificates to two randomly selected diners who attend the event and complete an online survey about their experience.
