1. Sixth annual SoundBites promises memorable tastes & tunes
Milwaukee's hottest chefs, some from the city's newest restaurants, and 88Nine Radio Milwaukee DJs will serve up one-of-a-kind music-and-food pairings at the station's sixth annual SoundBites fundraiser Thursday Feb. 9 at the Iron Horse Hotel.
2. FreshFin Poke to host grand opening on Jan. 28
FreshFin Poké (po-kay) is Milwaukee's first poké restaurant and will be hosting its grand opening ceremony Saturday, Jan. 28. Festivities will include a ribbon cutting ceremony as well as free tastings of FreshFin's signature bowls.
3. Mason Street Grill to close Jan. 22 for interior refresh
Mason Street Grill celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2017. And, as part of the festivities, the restaurant will be temporarily closing to accommodate a refresh in decor. We've got the details on the changes, which include a brand new dining experience.
4. Purple Door Ice Cream closed through Jan. 31
Looks like you'll have to suppress your local ice cream cravings for a couple of weeks. The Purple Door Ice Cream scoop shop at 205 S. 2nd St. is taking a two-week hiatus.
5. EsterEv changes reservation system to accommodate diners
Despite its obvious advantages to the restaurant, EsterEv - the chef's table restaurant inside dandan - will switch its reservation platform from Tock to OpenTable beginning this afternoon. And the changes were made specifically with the customer in mind.
6. "Tour de Tosa" to feature four village restaurants in progressive dinner event
This January, enjoy the "Tour de Tosa," an event showcasing dishes and drinks from around Europe, served up in a "progressive dinner" format, where guests move from restaurant to restaurant for unique dishes and a wine or beer pairing.
7. Tosa Hollander will close for updates
Lowlands Restaurant Group announced today that the Cafe Hollander, at 7677 W. State St. in Tosa Village, will close from Jan. 2 to 13 for a quick refresh.

After nearly 10 years, Bruegger's Bagel Bakery has closed its location in Downtown Milwaukee at 753 N. Water St., at Mason Street.

On Thursday, Dec. 8, fast food chain Chick-fil-A opens its newest Wisconsin location at 2645 S. 108th St. in West Allis.
13. Point Burger Bar opens this week in Pewaukee
A new Pewaukee location of Point Burger Bar will open this week adjacent to the Veloce Indoor Speedway. The Las Vegas-style burger bar owned by restaurateur Brian Ward debuted its first location on the Northwest Side in fall 2015.
