For the second year in a row, Photographer and Author Scott Kelby asked individuals to take to the street for one day and snap photos of the world around them. The result? Nearly 900 walks worldwide lured as many as 32,000 photographers to the street.

The Worldwide Photo Walk, held on July 18th, brought 50 photographers to the Brady Street area. Now, just over a month later, Caggio: An Art Experiment hosts the first annual "Brady Street Photo Festival" to introduce these local images showing the eclectic and vibrant life of Milwaukee's Eastside.

Featured photographers include Audrey Waitkus, Coree Coppinger, Daniel Seng Pugliese, Allen Mann, Eric Quarkee, Fred Thorne, Geri Laehn, Julie Ferris, Kent Newton, Leroy Kollacinski, Mary Foley, Nicole Flynn, Pam Strosser, Phil Waitkus, Robb Quinn, Richard Bublitz, Tierre De Carlo, Tim Kant and Tina Klose.

The exhibit opens Friday from 5-10 p.m. at Caggio: An Art Experiment, 918 E. Brady St. The show runs through Sept. 9.

Maureen Post Special to OnMilwaukee.com

OnMilwaukee.com staff writer Maureen Post grew up in Wauwatosa. A lover of international and urban culture, Maureen received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

After living on the east side of Madison for several years, Maureen returned to Milwaukee in 2006.

After a brief stint of travel, Maureen joined OnMilwaukee.com as the city’s oldest intern and has been hooked ever since. Combining her three key infatuations, Milwaukee’s great music, incredible food and inspiring art (and yes, in that order), Maureen’s job just about fits her perfectly.

Residing in Bay View, Maureen vehemently believes the city can become fresh and new with a simple move across town.
