UPDATE: The one-of-a-kind in Milwaukee fabric art installation planned for installation this month by artist Amanda Browder has been delayed by the artist until 2021.

Here's how Browder explained the change recently in a Facebook post:

Here is the original article I wrote in May:

Artist Amanda Browder is transforming donated fabrics into a unique and colorful fiber arts installation that will envelop the former tavern at 272 E. Erie St. in the Third Ward.

In a Facebook post, Browder said she expects to arrive in Milwaukee on June 3 to install "Togetherness" in time for "a digital party" on June 20.

In another post, the Brooklyn-based, Montana-born installation artist – a UW-Madison grad – showed some of the upcycled fabric being prepared for the work.

The installation is being sponsored by Black Box Fund MKE and should be in place for about 2-3 weeks, Browder said.

Among the recycled fabric were old gallery night flags donated by Historic Third Ward.

There's more on the building, aka 266 E. Erie St., which had served most recently as a student union for MIAD, here.
