In honor of the City of Milwaukee’s 169th birthday the Milwaukee Press Club hosted a Milwaukee Made contest to recognize the people, products and places that contribute to the city's greatness.

The public was invited to vote online and the winners were officially announced today. The contest featured three categories: who, what and where.

In the "who" category, Dr. David Ryder and Amy Grau were named the winners. Ryder is the head brewmaster at MillerCoors and Grau runs Doors Open Milwaukee, a free city-wide tour of Milwaukee’s churches, office buildings, museums, libraries, hotels and more.

Milwaukee Blacksmith won the "what" category. Kent Knapp – aka the Milwaukee Blacksmith – runs the blacksmithing / iron working company with his wife, Shannon, and four of their six children.

Finally, International Exports Ltd. – otherwise known as The Safe House – nabbed the top spot in the "where" category. The spy-themed bar and eatery has been a Milwaukee "must see" since 1966.

All winners will be recognized at the City of Milwaukee’s 169th Birthday Party on Thursday, Jan. 29 at The Grain Exchange. To register for this event, go here.
