Sip it: Tullamore D.E.W. Trilogy

You can't have a great St Patrick's Day party without a nice swill of Irish whiskey. My choice for this year is a bit of a splurge, but it's also positively delicious. The new Tullamore D.E.W. Trilogy, a 15 year Irish Whiskey which was just released to the U.S. In February is a blend of three whiskeys that is three times distilled and matured first in bourbon barrels, followed by Oloroso Sherry butts and then finished in rum casks. It's rich, creamy and smooth with tropical notes on the nose and flavored of honey vanilla and ripe, dried fruit followed by wood and spice. Definitely a great sipper in my book. Drink it: Surly Brewing Co. IPA Todd the Axe Man

Just because it's St. Patrick's Day doesn't mean you have to trade the hoppy beer for a stout. Celebrate with this Minneapolis-made West Coast-style IPA. Created in partnership with Denmark's Amager Brewery, Surly uses a single malt – Golden Promise – and Citra and Mosaic hops to create a medium bodied ale with a foamy head out of the can and a super-citrus-forward taste. Eat them: reuben rolls at O'Lydia's

No St. Patrick's Day is complete without an order of the delectable reuben rolls from O'Lydia's Bar & Grill. Dig into a wonton wrapped reuben filled with tasty corned beef, sauerkraut and cheese and then dip into your container of thousand island dressing. Pair it with a Jameson and ginger beer (mule) or a Guinness and you are in heaven. – Carolynn Buser
