It’s a rite of passage for people from Wisconsin. When preparing for going to a sporting event, we know it is even more important to prepare for the time in the parking lot.

Tailgating.

Whether it is simply breaking out the cooler for a few drinks before the game, or getting the bean bag toss games, full grill and salad bar … we know how to dress in team gear and start the party early.

The Travel Channel is counting on Brewers tailgaters to pull out all the stops to be featured in a new show with host Adam Richman called "Fandemonium."

"Representatives from the Travel Channel will be at Miller Park scouring the parking lots for mouthwatering food, unique tailgate setups and one-of-a-kind traditions," the release from the Brewers said.

Adam Richman, known for his hosting duties and eating on "Man vs. Food" and appearances on "Amazing Eats" and "Iron Chef America," will be at Miller Park for the Brewers’ homestand against Seattle on July 19-21.

The Brewers posted a form for fans to fill out contact information and what makes their tailgating experience unique.

"Submitting an online form does not guarantee an appearance on the show, but allows fans an opportunity to express their interest in being considered for the show," the release stated.

HOME SERVICE: Time Warner Cable is expanding its IntelligentHome wireless home security system to Wisconsin.

"Imagine you’re away on vacation and realize that you left the thermostat set at 72 degrees or left a closet light on. IntelligentHome lets you make adjustments remotely using a PC or smartphone. You can also temporarily disarm the system so a neighbor can come in to check the house, and you can even watch live video of your pets at home. It really brings customers a whole new level of peace of mind – and convenience," said Adam Mayer, VP of IntelligentHome, said in a release.

The home management system that provides security, automation and energy management is the latest offering from the cable TV outlet that has been in the community since the 1980s. Time Warner Cable first expanded into home internet and phone access, and this seems to be the next opportunity to create a new revenue stream for the company.

FRIDAY’S WITH MITT: Fox Business Network’s Neil Cavuto will interview Mitt Romney at 7 p.m. on Friday. Cavuto will talk with the former GOP presidential candidate about his "Experts and Enthusiasts" summit in Utah, where he will host politicians and business leaders who were major supporters during his campaign.

FOR SALE: Disney, in another move to cut down expenses, plans to sell seven Radio Disney stations in mid-size markets. That means WKSH-AM 1640 in Milwaukee is up for bids.

This follows the moves the Mickey Mouse company made with layoffs at ESPN and shutting the doors at recently acquired Lucas Arts, the video game arm behind the "Star Wars" universe.

I first discussed the move with radio industry watchers Akiem Bailum (@Li495Akiem)  and RadioInsight.com (@radioinsight) on Twitter on Tuesday. I often chat about digital and traditional media on social media before it makes it into this daily column. Feel free to join in on the conversation on Twitter at @SteveKabelowsky.
