Everyone has been waiting for Donald Driver’s next move since the wide receiver retired from the Green Bay Packers after last season, and here it is – the 38-year-old will be heading up the desk for FOX6’s Real Milwaukee.

"I’ve been weighing plenty of options in television since I retired, and this seems like the best fit," Driver said with his trademark grin.

The 2012 "Dancing With The Stars" champion is not replacing any of the Real Milwaukee regulars, which include Nicole Koglin, Katrina Cravy, Cassandra McShepard, Rob Haswell and man-on-the-street Tony Clark.

"We’re very excited to welcome Donald to the show," Koglin said. "Now we can move Rob to tight end in the station flag football league. Tim Van Vooren just isn’t getting it done at that position."

FOX6 general manager Chuck Steinmetz was equally excited, stealing Tom Pipines’ favorite iPad for Driver to autograph.

Driver’s addition does mean the end of Haswell’s odd chair-dancing routines in and out of commercial breaks, as sources say Driver dropped his Crystal Ball on the negotiating table in saying he was the only one on the show who will dance.

"It’s OK," said Haswell, noting he owns one Thunderstruck Canada dance title, though "Taylor Green wasn’t much competition."

Cravy and Clark were somewhat dismayed by the hiring in that they were slowly gaining on Koglin as the most-followed personality on Twitter – apparently there was a bet for a box of Racine Danish Kringles on who would have the most by the end of the year.

"No one will catch Donald," Clark said with a frown. "He has like a million!"

Driver laughed, then noted he’s a big fan of the sea salt and caramel kringle.

He is expected to join the show in two weeks, though Steinmetz admitted he’s somewhat worried by the fact that Brett Favre calls his new host on a regular basis.

"This is the first time Donald’s retired," Steinmetz said, rubbing his hands together. "We’re just hoping he stays retired – we don’t need another Packers legend joining the Vikings!"
