MORNING RACE: Half way through the November sweeps and WITI-TV Fox 6 is leading the weekday morning news race.

Traditionally there are larger swings in rankings in the mornings because there are less viewers overall when compared to the evening newscasts. And morning news is a little harder to measure as different channels are on with different times.

When compared head-to-head, WITI leads in two of the major time blocks. Here’s where the numbers stand as of Nov. 13.

5 to 6 a.m.: WITI-TV Fox 6 – 3.7, WISN-TV Ch. 12 – 3.4, WTMJ-TV Ch. 4 – 1.9, WDJT-TV CBS 58 – 0.7

6 to 7 a.m.: WITI 4.7, WISN 4.5, WTMJ 3.4, WDJT 1.1

"DOCTOR WHO": If you are a fan of the BBC’s longest-running sci-fi franchise, then you know that next week is important to fans across the globe.

The "Day of the Doctor" 50th anniversary special airs on BBC America on Nov. 23. The producers have been pretty slow to give out too many details, but it is said that a number of actors who have played the title character will be featured in the show.

All day marathons of shows will air starting Monday, featuring specials and behind-the-scenes looks into the program. Then on Tuesday, a marathon of shows staring "Thor: The Dark World" actor Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor will run. He was the ninth actor out of the 11 that have had the role so far.

On Saturday, the global premier simulcast of "Day of the Doctor" will air at 1:50 p.m. Central time. BBC America will have exclusive interviews with actors Matt Smith and David Tennant during the broadcast.
