We hate to say this, but at some point (well, not some point; late Sunday night to be exact), Summerfest 50 is going to come to a close, and we'll all be very sad. But thankfully, even when the big red smile goes back into hibernation for a year, there will be no shortage of live music events scattered around the city – and here's another one!

Starting July 14, the Milwaukee Athletic Club will host the 2017 AURA Music Series, a weekly series of live performances from both local and national up-and-coming bands – including Milwaukee's own Abby Jeanne and Listening Party – taking place on the roof of the Downtown social club every Friday.

The series comes co-presented by Red Gorilla Events, which has previously created and managed events starring the likes of Imagine Dragons, Foster the People, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kendrick Lamar and more, before they hit it big.

Here's the lineup of potential future music industry stars taking over the MAC rooftop this summer:

  • July 14: Abby Jeanne
  • July 21: Marah in the Mainsail
  • July 28: Goldford
  • Aug. 4: Gabe Dixon & Tony Lucca
  • Aug. 18: Bassel & The Supernaturals
  • Aug. 25: Listening Party
  • Sept. 1: Sidewalk Chalk
  • Sept. 8: TBA

The doors open to the public each night at 8 p.m., and all of the concerts are free and open to the public – though capacity is limited. All the shows are 21-plus only. So sip some specialty cocktails, soak in the Cream City skyline and swig down the sweet sounds of some rising stars.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
