Last year marked the debut of Arte Para Todos, a local music extravaganza spread over three days and three neighborhoods, with 100 percent of the proceeds spread equally to three Milwaukee schools in order to help fund art programs. It was an awesome event, and yet somehow, for year two, organizers have managed to make it even more so.

This morning, as first reported by Milwaukee Record, Arte Para Todos released the lineup for its sophomore year extravaganza, and not only is it filled with great local artistically and musical talent, it's one day longer, one neighborhood larger and one school art program bigger.

The festival will stretch across four days, starting on Thursday, April 21 in Walkers Point before heading to Bay View on Friday, Riverwest on Saturday and the East Side on Sunday. A fourth school has also been added to Arte Para Todos' beneficiaries, this year comprised of George Washington Carver Academy, Escuela Vieau School, Milwaukee Parkside School of the Arts and Frederick J. Gaenslen School. Once again, 100 percent of the proceeds from the show will be split equally amongst the schools.

In addition to all of that awesomeness, over the next few months, Arte Para Todos will set up a series of in-school performances and Q&A sessions at several local schools in the hopes to connect the local music community to the city's future generations of music makers and consumers. WebsterX, The Fatty Acids and Field Report are just a few of the bands already set to perform in schools across the area.

It's a terrific event toward a terrific cause, with a terrific lineup of talent that looks something like this:

Matt Mueller Culture Editor

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
