The Hotel Foster carries on a great tradition of live music in the club at 2028 E. North Ave. Even before the Boardwalk and after The Globe, this space has been a hospitable venue for local musicians.

To celebrate its two-year anniversary, The Hotel Foster is joining forces with Seizure Chicken to present the four-day Foster Fest, from Thursday, May 2 through Sunday, May 5.

The event – the full schedule of which is listed below – features a mix of local and national headliners like Milwaukee’s Kid Millions and Jaill, as well as Har Mar Superstar, Colleen Green and Generationals.

Additionally, Milwaukee’s The Saltshakers celebrate the release of the second of a series of CD EPs – this one’s called "Change the Channel" – during the festival.

"The lineup came together quite nicely and we all are incredibly excited," says Seizure Chicken’s Mark Goldstein.

"Getting locals on touring bills is one of my favorite things about promoting. I go out and see all these bands play and am totally blown away. I've been waiting a while to do a show with both Rio Turbo and Sat Nite Duets."

Goldstein says he’s been tossing around the idea of doing a festival with The Hotel Foster and the club’s birthday seemed like the perfect time.

"John Revord (of The Hotel Foster) and I had been talking about doing a festival for a bit. We had four nights in mind that lined up nicely with the venue's second anniversary," he recalls.

"We wanted every night to be a party night and I wanted to get some bands into the Hotel Foster that you might not expect to play there. With the Generationals headlining the fest and Colleen Green and Jaill on the Saturday, we added Kid Millions and Klassik to the Thursday."

Once the idea was hatched, says Goldstein, some pleasant happenstances helped move it forward.

"I had met Har Mar Superstar on a cruise a couple months prior and reached out to see if he would be into playing Friday May 3. It turned out that he was going to be touring around the Midwest that time, so everything worked out amazingly easy."
