Why you can’t miss it

Matthew Logan Vasquez, or MLV for short, has been a part of several different groups over the past decade. But regardless of the name on the drum kit, he puts on one of the best shows you will ever see. Although he’s best known for his work as the lead singer in the band Delta Spirit, he is currently touring as a solo act.

At past solo shows in Milwaukee, he’s played a healthy mix of Delta songs, his own originals and, probably most importantly, songs from his folk supergroup collaboration, Middle Brother. Even if you don’t know the songs going in, there no chance that you won’t leave this show a fan.

Song starter pack

The Hit: "Bushwick Blues" by Delta Spirit

One of the hits from his days in Delta spirit, this song has both an electric guitar-heavy recording and a slower, harmonica-laden acoustic version. Both are great, but give them a listen and decide for yourself on which one you think is best.

The B-Side Beauty: "Austin" by Matthew Logan Vasquez

This deeply personal long form ballad about Vasquez’s youth is a window into his life and the moments that made him the artist he is today. It has over a 15-minute runtime, but will hold your interest all the way through.

Can’t Wait to See It Live: "Blue Eyes" by Middle Brother

Even though this song comes from the Middle Brother sessions, it is a staple at most MLV solo shows and often the highlight.
