You knew Summerfest wasn't done with country headliners after announcing Jason Aldean last October – and indeed, the Big Gig today added another country star to its biggest stage with Thomas Rhett, who will headline the festival on Wednesday, June 26, with special guests Dustin Lynch and Russell Dickerson.

After getting his start songwriting for fellow country stars Lee Brice ("Parking Lot Party"), Florida Georgia Line ("Round Here") and, fittingly enough, Aldean ("I Ain't Ready to Quit," "1994"), Rhett began making a name for himself behind the mic with his debut album "It Goes Like This," which featured hits like the titular song, "Get Me Some Of That" and "Make Me Wanna."

His career continued to skyrocket from there, releasing two more albums ("Tangled Up" in 2015 and "Life Changes" in 2017), scoring several more hits ("Die a Happy Man," "T-Shirt" and "Marry Me") and even snagging two Grammy nominations, one in 2017 for Best County Song with "Die a Happy Man" and another the next year for Best County Album for "Life Changes."

Rhett most recently played Milwaukee last year, serving as one of several openers for Kenny Chesney's Miller Park gig. 

Tickets for Thomas Rhett and company will go on sale starting Friday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster and Summerfest's website. Tickets can also be bought in person at the Summerfest box office, Ticketmaster ticket centers and select Walmart stores, as well as by phone at (800) 745-3000 for a live Ticketmaster Agent or (866) 448-7849 for the "Ticketmaster Express" automated phone line.

Rhett joins fellow Summerfest 2019 headliners Aldean, Ozzy Osbourne and Bon Iver – but there's still plenty of main stage acts left to announce, so stay tuned to OnMilwaukee.
