In the 18 years I've been using the Internet, a few memories stand out. Obviously, I remember the first time I sent an e-mail in 1991. I remember using instant messenger to connect with friends in new York on Sept. 11. And I remember the first time I used Wi-Fi.

Today, I'm sure I'll remember the first time I used in-flight Wi-Fi en route to Washington, DC, aboard an AirTran Boeing 717.

The battery on my netbook died, so I'm blogging via iPhone, and I apologize if this reads a little choppily. But, I'm simply blown away by the fact that I can post an article from 30,000 feet above Ohio. I'm even more amazed that I e-mailed back and forth to my business partner, Jeff Sherman, who is also on board a plane to Los Angeles right now.

I know this isn't the first blog we've done mid-air. Bobby and Drew did one en route to Atlanta earlier this summer. But doing it first hand feels just so futuristic. I have no idea how this technology works, by the way. I just know I love it.

I love it so much in fact that I'm barely fazed by the moderate turbulance we are experiencing now -- and I'm a nervous flyer.

The future is now, people. Color me impressed.
