I'm sure my friend and talented musician Doug Scott won't mind if I take this opportunity to share a little info he sent my way today.

Klub Österreich -- The Austrian-American Society of Milwaukee hosts the 29th annual Wine Fest, an Austrian cultural variety show, on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. at the Bavarian Inn, 700 W. Lexington Blvd., in Glendale (it's behind the Kopp's on Port Washington, just drive under the freeway). The doors open at 1:15 p.m. and admission is $10 ($8 for club members).

"It's an Austrian tradition to celebrate the harvest of new wine," Doug writes. "It's a cultural variety show, with lots of folk music and Viennese songs, as well as some skits and very fine folk dancing. The music is in German, with lots of explanation in English."

So, if you're looking for something a little different -- in this case romantic Viennese music, funny skits, elegant dancing and authentic Austrian folk music -- check out Wine Fest.

Afterward, there will be a buffet dinner, available separately, and then dance music by Austrian Express.

If you need more info, e-mail Doug Scott.
