Bienvenidos a Mexican Dining Week on OnMilwaukee.com. This week, in honor of Cinco de Mayo, we're spicing things up with daily articles about Mexican restaurants, foods, drinks, sweets and more. Enjoy a week of sizzling stories that will leave you craving Milwaukee's Latin offerings. Olé!

As Andy Tarnoff notes in a story this Mexican Dining Week, you don't have to be Mexican to run a great Mexican restaurant. And you sure as heck don't have to be Mexican to enjoy Cinco de Mayo. Firefly Urban Bar & Grill is among the many eateries getting into the spirit this week.

I took the fams to Firefly last night – kids eat free on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, you know – and we learned they have a little Cinco de Mayo celebration going on through Saturday.

In addition to hand-muddled margaritas, you can get $3 Coronas and Pacificos while you await your meals.

On the menu for the celebration are pork carnitas with marinated onions, shredded lettuce and salsa verde; chicken enchiladas with salsa roja, Monterey jack cheese and pico de gallo; and, for dessert, flan with fresh berries and whipped cream.

The two entree specials come with sides of rice and beans. Because the weather's warm, you can enjoy the patio, too, as long as the rain holds off.
