Milwaukee has no shortage of great neighborhoods – one of them being Riverwest. The area just west of the Milwaukee River is an eclectic neighborhood of families, artists, professionals and one of the most diverse ones as well.

Lifehacker took note of the neighborhood yesterday when it shared new maps from Trulia ranking neighborhoods by how well you can live there. Trulia, a real estate website, analyzed neighborhoods across the U.S. to see which ones had: "low traffic, places to play (including parks, trails and indoor bounce houses for the little ones), and places for health and day care (such as hospitals, pharmacies, and day care locations)."

While these are not the only criteria for people on considering where to live, they certainly are important ones.

Trulia took the data above and then broke down the neighborhoods by city size and ranked them in small, mid-size and large metros. Riverwest came in fifth in mid-sized metros behind Outer Sunset, San Francisco; West Riverside, New Orleans; Crestview, Austin; and Driftwood, Fort Lauderdale. You can read the full story here

While the Riverwest ranking is fantastic – and I am a Riverwester – I have to be curious how it would have changed had other things – such as crime or poverty levels – been taken into account. These are certainly issues that may be a deal breaker for others, though the positives for Riverwest much out-weigh the negative. That's why I choose to live here.

What do you think, Milwaukee? Is Riverwest finally getting the accolades it deserves?

Carolynn Buser is one of Milwaukee's loudest and most adamant cheerleaders (don't dare try to disagree). She's the primary voice behind much of OnMilwaukee's social media and content direction, and apologizes in advance if she can be too sarcastic at times.

What else? She's a wine lover, closet trashy novel reader, beauty supplies addict and devourer of cheese (shocker for a Wisconsin born and bred girl, right?). She's also a bit of a foodie, which is a word most of you hate, we know. She works as hard as she plays - and that includes in the gym! So, you've probably seen her at one of the area's newest restaurant openings (and yes, she will share her opinions good or bad) or enjoying a cold one at a local pub.

All in all, Carolynn's a believer in positive thinking and will do her best to smack down your negative ones while writing about her city, her loves, quests and more.
