The Toronto Star sent one of the best Canadian reporters to look at our city, and he wrote an article with the headline, "Back in Time 60 Years: America's Most Segregated City." That headline was followed by a sub-headline that read, "Why Milwaukee, far from the Deep South, gets the unwelcome title as the most segregated place in America."
It's a blistering take by Daniel Dale who heads the Washington bureau for the Star. Dale is famous for his intense coverage of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.
The story is going to be very uncomfortable for anyone who lives here to read, and there will be cries that it is too one-sided and ignores the positive efforts to change the city that are going on.
