Thanks to the local news/weather/storm team cabal, I blocked out a little time today for snow removal. Looks like I won't need it.

The estimated 2-6 inches of wet, heavy, traffic-snarling snow we were supposed to encounter this morning never materialized.

I'm not really mad about this. Heck, baseball season starts tonight and the last thing we need is snow on the ground.

I have to say, however, that I'm a little miffed at the local weather predictors. They've been right more often than not this winter when it comes to forecasts and there was no reason to doubt their reports of the past few days.

When I say "miffed," please don't take that to mean I'm here to rip the weather guys. That would be too easy. I know how hard it is to make predictions. I said that UConn would beat Michigan State yesterday, for crying out loud.

It's just that the constant pounding of the storm warnings creates dread and, in some cases, panic. I saw people filling gas cans yesterday, presumably to fill snowblowers that will now remain silent.

There are worse things in the world than NOT getting six inches of wet, heavy snow during the first week of April. It's just that, given the buildup, I'm not elated that it's not going to happen.

I'm frustrated because I thought it was going to happen. And, I'm miffed at the folks who made me think it was going to happen.

Summer can't arrive soon enough.
