Pop culture writers are buzzing about "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog," the 40-minute, three-part musical comedy that Joss and Jed Whedon produced for the Internet.

"Dr. Horrible" is the story of a low-rent villain / mad scientist, played by Neil Patrick Harris, who wants to wreak havoc but can't really make it happen. His cackle is so wimpy that he hired a voice coach.

The idea came to the Whedons during the writer's strike and its site-crashing popularity since its release Tuesday has major studios wondering how they can capitalize and cash in. (Our guess: they can't / won't.
