Two of Milwaukee’s brightest young stars are ¡OYE! and Klassik, two guys that bring creative and forward-thinking hip-hop to the table. They also happen to be friends and collaborate with each other quite often.

Well, as friends do, ¡OYE! and Klassik are coming together to put on a rare hometown performance at the BBC above G. Daddy’s this Friday night.

Klassik’s "Death of a Beatmaker" was among last year’s best EPs and ¡OYE!’s EP "In My Mind" from last year even got a nice nod from music fans when it was voted at "Best Disc We Missed" in 88Nine RadioMilwaukee’s most recent round of awards.

¡OYE! released an EP this year titled "The Brown Bomber" that features some very good tunes, with my favorite being "On The Menu," which features UNOM and production by the young and talented producer *hitmayng.

Also featured on the bill is K.Raydio from Minneapolis, and several familiar Milwaukee artists like RTystic, Blizz McFly, Sunny Daze and Seismic.

The DJ starts spinning at 9:30 p.m. and the show is sponsored by InkRed Clothing.

Born in Milwaukee and raised in the Milwaukee suburb of Brown Deer, Concordia University Wisconsin alumnus Poppe has spent the majority of his life in or around the city and county of Milwaukee.

As an advocate of Milwaukee's hip-hop community Poppe began popular local music blog Milwaukee UP in March 2010. Check out the archived entries here.

Though heavy on the hip-hop, Poppe writes about other genres of music and occasionally about food, culture or sports, and is always ready to show his pride in Milwaukee and Wisconsin.
