Blue ribbons are flying on several light posts along Wisconsin Avenue in Downtown Milwaukee.  They look great in the sunshine but look closer and you see they are promoting awareness around the need for foster care and adoptive parenting.

Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Community Services is behind the effort.

The ribbons encourage you to "Become a foster or adoptive parent" and feature the Children’s logo, a phone number (414-KID-HERO) and Web site

Children’s Hospital also has used similar ribbons in the national Blue Ribbons for Kids awareness initiative that helps prevent child abuse during National Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month (April).

Check out the new blue Children’s Hospital ribbons on your next walk up or down Wisconsin Avenue.
