Rupena's closed its Milwaukee Public Market location at the end of February.

Market officials tell me that they are close to finalizing a lease deal for a vendor to take the Rupena's location.

Rupena's opened its market location in November 2008, and did a good job with its blend of butcher shop items and grab and go.  Its hamburger was a great deal and really, really tasty.

Yet, since the space lacked seating and counter space it never did a good enough job (in my humble opinion) showcasing its many breakfast, lunch and dinner options.  Rupena's great meats and grocery items are still available at its main location, Rupena's Fine Foods at 7641 W. Beloit Rd.

I'll update this blog when new vendor information is available.
