For once, the experts seem to have gotten it right.

There is about three feet of snow (fallen and drifting) in the alley next to my apartement. My front door is basically blocked by snow and there is so much accumulation on my deck, I'm starting to worry about the stability.

None of that, though, made me think this storm was abnorally bad.

The Civil Danger Warning from the National Weather Service, however, did.
