For the ninth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, dining guides, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as voting for your "Best of Dining 2015."

Waffles

Ingredients:

2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose* or whole wheat flour
1/2 cup vegetable oil or margarine or butter, melted
1 3/4 cups milk
1 tablespoon granulated or brown sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of salt

Instructions:

Heat waffle iron. Beat eggs with hand beater in medium bowl until fluffy. Beat in remaining ingredients just until smooth. Pour batter from cup or pitcher onto center of hot waffle iron. Bake about 5 minutes or until steaming stops. Remove waffle carefully. Top with favorite toppings and enjoy!

Yields 10-12 waffles.

*If using self-rising flour, omit baking powder and salt.
