Jason Aldean at Summerfest

Let me first say that I am not a hard sell when it comes to country concerts. I love the easy-going atmosphere that a country concert brings to a venue and Summerfest definitely lived up to that expectation.

When I found out that a lot of my favorite country artists were coming to the amphitheater, I made a point to see them all play. I started the week by seeing Toby Keith and Eric Church but the icing on the cake was the Jason Aldean concert, courtesy of OnMilwaukee. It may have been because I was closer than the back lawn, but regardless, he put on the best country concert I've ever seen.

Opener Chris Young turned out to be the kind of opener who had more hit songs than I thought, which was a pleasant surprise. By the time Jason Aldean made it out on stage, the amphitheater was packed and everyone was ready to party. The crowd was singing and dancing so much, Aldean probably could've gotten away with just letting the crowd sing for him. He sang everything from "The Truth" to his newest hit, "Dirt Road Anthem."

Overall, Jason Aldean and openers Chris Young and Thompson Square pleased an easy-going crowd on a gorgeous Friday night. It was the perfect concert to get a cold Miller Light and sing along to a few country favorites and it made my first Summerfest complete. What can I say, it was "My Kind of Party."
