The Rise of Ye Rovers: Examples of the Whydah

Get a taste of some of the great research happening in Milwaukee during the MPM's monthly Lunch & Lecture presentations! Join Collection Manager Al Muchka and explore the pirate heydays of the 18th century in conjunction with the "Real Pirates" exhibit. Black Sam Bellamy and the crew of the Whydah exemplified the best and worst of the brethren of the waves following the roving way of life and loot. Learn of pirate ways and ships that created a “numerous infestation” to be suppressed by royal and colonial authorities in making safe the way of commerce on the seas.
