Behind the Scenes at the Monster Jam

The Monster Jam comes to the BMO Harris Bradley Center this weekend and the BC is being converted into a giant dirt track today. From the dirt load-in to the making of hills, the center is abuzz with activity. The dirt is trucked in from a Port Washington farm and is checked in advance with the Monster Jam folks, who test it for moisture content the right mix of nature's ingredients to make sure it meets strict specifications. It required four and a half hours to bring in 998 cubic yards of dirt – about 46 truck loads. Building the track took another six hours, plus three operators working five pieces of equipment: a loader, a bulldozer, skid steer, excavator and telehandler. Cleaning up again after? That's another six hours. Thanks to Kim Nguyen for the photos! See related article ...
