"Inherent Vice" gives off one great, groovy second-hand high

Writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson's been called a lot of things over his prodigious career. Light and cartoonish, however, would not likely be two of them. Yet here we are with "Inherent Vice," which goes down satisfyingly like a late night pizza on 4/20.


Glorified Google ad "The Internship" is a full-time failure

Dear readers, I have seen our savior, and its name is Google. Google is a shining, six-letter, multi-colored beacon of light and hope in these dark, difficult times, and its technological wizardry brings joy to the hearts of millions. All hail our wonderful search engine leader. All hail it indeed. At least, that was my main takeaway coming out of "The Internship," a woefully humor-devoid workplace comedy starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.


"Marley & Me" cuts too close to the bone

I think I made a mistake last night by watching the film "Marley & Me." I'm not saying this because I thought the film was a waste of time, but because I have a 13-year-old, deaf, gray-muzzled Lab who can barely walk up the stairs.

Historic museums are packed with exhibits from all periods in history. Many of those exhibits look like they could be life-like. So what if everything came to life at night? How cool would it be?
