The warm nights of summer are just around the corner - and as a helpful reminder, Jazz in the Park today announced its lineup for its upcoming 26th annual festival, returning to Cathedral Square Park from June 1 through Aug. 31.

It may be called Jazz in the Park, but as usual, the schedule for the beloved summer concert series - entering its 24th season - has much more than jazz to offer. The influences scattered across the upcoming 2015 lineup - announced just this afternoon - run the gambit from flamenco, reggae, Latin, blues, big band, vintage rock, soul, Celtic and, of course, jazz. This year, at least during games, Streetlife, the house band of the Milwaukee Bucks since 1985 is out of the game time picture. While they're still playing regularly around town (as a group and in solo gigs) and in the atrium before Bucks games, you won't see them during NBA games at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Band Together helps aspiring young musicians do just that

For kids who dream of rocking out to sold-out crowds on a guitar, bass or drum set, opportunities are limited. It was with this in mind that local musician and teacher Ryan Schiedermayer joined with Cascio Interstate Music to create Band Together, a program focused on giving promising young musicians a chance to learn more about the business of being in a band.
