When Cursive frontman Tim Kasher and Seattle's Minus the Bear hit The Rave on Thursday, Dec. 17, it will be the final night of a tour that has run more than a month, having kicked off Nov. 11 in Los Angeles. So, either expect them to be tired beyond belief or, more likely, to pull out all the stops and go out with a bang at the 8 p.m. show. Tickets are $17.50.

When he began recording his latest solo album, "Keep Your Dreams Alive," Steve Grimm didn't have to look very far for inspiration. He just had to look at his guitar. Grimm, a member of Bad Boy and a mainstay of the Milwaukee music scene for nearly three decades, used a Gibson Les Paul on many of the bed tracks for the eight songs that make up the disc. He received the guitar from a friend, Carl Dennino, who died shortly after presenting the gift.

Local power-pop heroes The Wigs, who left Milwaukee for Los Angeles in the early 1980s, return to town for a combination reunion show and CD release party Saturday night at Shank Hall.
