Seger serves up some Fat Tuesday cocktail gems

There are a lot of places in Milwaukee to celebrate Mardi Gras this year, but one of the best is Big Daddy's Brew & Que. The restaurant hosts a big Mardi Gras celebration from Vendredi (Friday) Feb. 27 through Mardi (Tuesday), March 4. In addition to live music by the Stubby Chubbz Brass Band on Fat Tuesday itself, the event will feature a New Orleans-style menu and some specialty cocktails by master mixologist Adam Seger.

As the embers of one tailgating season begin to cool in Milwaukee, others are just bursting into flame up in Green Bay. We all know how to slap some burgers and brats onto the hot iron, but what if you want to take your stadium grilling to a new level? We asked barbecue chef extraordinaire, Zachary Rosen, who helms the kitchen at Big Daddy's Brew & Que at Bayshore Town Center for his advice on how to score a touchdown at every tailgate.

Though Adam Seger isn't based in Milwaukee, we feel his influence in the cocktails served at iPic in Glendale. In addition to creating drinks for a wide range of venues, Seger is also a cocktail entrepreneur that has founded (or co-founded) Hum Spirits, Balsam Spirits and Rate Tea Syrups & Shrubberies. At the moment, Seger - an advanced sommelier and certified culinary professional - is working on a book about cocktails. We asked him about his experience, his work and some of his favorite Milwaukee places.
