Giannis gets fancy

If you thought Giannis mania couldn't get any bigger, wait until this weekend when the second year Milwaukee Bucks forward participates in the NBA All-Star weekend, including the slam dunk contest on Saturday night in Brooklyn. He's played it coy when asked what he may do, but promises "something fancy" in his quest for the trophy.

This weekend, I found a tiny square photograph at my mom's house. It shows me and Mr. Pepper, my third and fourth grade teacher, in the auditorium of my grade school. The photo is small, but Mr. Pepper's influence on my life wasn't. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, I'm offering up an encore of this 2011 blog posting.

In honor of Damien Jaques' article this morning about pizza by the slice - and in honor of my recent trip home to Brooklyn - I'm going to have a slice a day this week and write about it here. Because it's right across the street and the idea just hit me, I'm starting with Ian's on North Avenue.
