Cempazuchi quietly closed its doors Saturday night. It's not always possible to revisit an old favorite before it closes, but we were lucky enough to pay a visit on Friday to bid adieu to the restaurant, which opened in April 1999.

Another Brady Street staple, Cempazuchi Comida Bravo, has announced that it will close in the coming weeks. Known for its regional Mexican cuisine, including mole and fish tacos, the restaurant opened to the public in spring of 1999.

Bryce Clark, owner of Cempazuchi restaurant, 1205 E. Brady St., travels to Oaxaca, Mexico, every year to hand select items for his Oaxacan Market, set up inside the popular bar and restaurant from Thanksgiving until after New Year's.
