Thanks to an outpouring of support from the Milwaukee community, Von Trier will no longer be re-concepted. Instead, the historic venue will undergo a renaissance of sorts, similar to that taking place in the neighborhood it inhabits.

After nearly four decades at the helm of an East Side institution, John Sidoff is selling Hooligan's Super Bar, 2017 E. North Ave. Sidoff, along with his co-owner and wife, Cindy, are selling the bar - effective Nov. 1 - to general manager Mark Buesing. The Sidoffs will continue to own Von Trier, 2235 N. Farwell Ave.

After much talk about the future of Von Trier, 2235 N. Farwell Ave., John and Cindy Sidoff -- owners of Hooligan's, 2017 E. North Ave., told OnMilwaukee.com today that they have purchased the building from Mark Eckert.
