In November, we reported plans to revive the historic Wally Schmidt tavern, located on Fond du Lac Avenue in the Lindsay Heights Neighborhood. Since then we've learned that a local chef has signed on to operate the restaurant, slated to open in fall.

Last year, developer / green entrepreneur / sustainable Milwaukee advocate Juli Kaufmann was honored with the Milwaukee Business Journal's Women of Influence award. This year, she served as the keynote speaker and delivered a speech that people will be talking about for a long time. And not just because it rhymed.
