Musician Gary Myers spent a number of years playing in many Milwaukee clubs with his bands The Night Beats, The Darnells and The Cashmeres (Mojo Men, later The Portraits). Fortunately, he also took photographs of the places where he performed.

Liban has had quite a 50 years. He's been up and down and up and down and up. He's faced substance abuse, charlatan promoters, empty promises, dark and dingy clubs, big stages, European tours, the death of a loved one, some racial uncertainties and eventually his present state of comfort. If that sounds like a blues song, it's because his life has been like a great tune.

Milwaukee has always had a good rock and roll scene. Sure, there have been ups and downs, but the three-chords-and-the-truth spirit has been fueling Brew City garage bands from the days of The Bonnevilles and The Nomads in the 1950s through today.
